Nothing is in Our hands

Bismillahirahmanirrahim...

It wasn't fun being stuck in Moscow Airport. My flight was delayed for six hours and I didn't anticipate that at all. Hardly ever. But there is an Arabic saying that goes, Li Kulli Shayin Sababan; for everything there is a reason. I call them hidden reasons.

I sat by the window with my plate of pistachios looking at the snowflakes that looked like bits of cotton candy. Conifer trees stood along the icy roads that were covered with thick snow. Winter hadn't thawed yet and neither had the atmosphere in the waiting lounge of the airport. But who was I to complain? We had food, a computer with Internet access, clean toilets and plenty of time to nap.

After a long wait, we were finally called to check in for our next flight. We were compensated with chocolates and a new lesson- Never forget to say Insya Allah since everything happens with Allah's will, as mentioned in the Quran.

Alhamdulillah, the long flight to my destination was pretty much a pleasant one. Like the snow flakes I saw that morning, the journey across the Atlantic Ocean was worth remembering.

Nobody told us the reason for our delay in Moscow. But surprisingly, when we reached Houston Airport in the evening, everything was calm and in order as though a storm had just passed. The Immigration officers were in a friendly mood. I was told that the airport was packed earlier in the afternoon and had we arrived at that time, we could have been stuck for hours to claim our luggage.

I call this blessings in disguise. After all, who could have planned it better other than the Only One who thought what was best for us.

It was worth the wait in Moscow and the chocolates by the way-Masha Allah they were simply delicious!
